The McLennan Ross Junior Tour starts next Saturday in Drayton Valley. This week's Global Edmonton MVP, Duncan Mills, will be there. As John Sexsmith reports, Mills has be on the golf tour for 20 years.
The Key is Desire
It's no surprise to see Clare McMahon among of the top young female golfers in the province.
After all the 16-year-old grew up on the Balmoral Golf Course, which is owned and managed by her parents, John and Lesley.
"My dad got me involved when I was four. He'd take me out to the 10th hole and we'd play it over and over. I'd usually play a hole, then take a hole off while he played, then play again," she explained. "That was my introduction to the sport."
Local teen golfer aims to continue winning streak.
When it comes to winning streaks in sports the numbers tell a story.
One win is something to be happy with. Two is an indication you are doing something right. Three gets you feeling very comfortable. But four? Now that is a whole other level.

"Red Deer's Clare McMahon (Balmoral) is on an absolute tear on the McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour. McMahon has finished tops among the girls at four of the past five tournaments, claiming victories in Innisfail, Carstairs, Ponoka and Wetaskiwin."
